MULES

In the last years, the illegal traffic of drugs has designed new methods of transport and introduction in different countries, especially in United States and European Union.
The typical drug-pushers have been replaced for young women; in general they are of humble origin. These women are contracted to store drugs inside their bodies so they can bring to the destination. They received the name of “mules”.

There are some ways to camouflage drugs. Nowadays the method more usual and more dangerous consists of ingesting capsules. These capsules contain heroine, cocaine or ecstasy, and these are stored inside stomach and after the “mules” expel these for anal route.

This process needs training; little by little the “mules” are increasing doses until incredible ends. The worst situation for them is when the capsules exploit inside their bodies now that this circumstance leads the death.

When these new drug-pushers arrive at the airport and they go through the customs the unique way of know if they transport drugs inside their bodies is doing a radiograph of their stomach. In this X-ray photography you can see lots of oval shapes and the police recover the drugs when the “mules” expel these by digestive tract.
